The paradigmatic case of Pampers' digital transformation: discussion on the acceptance of stakeholders

Abstract

The digital transformation of an organization is a complex process as it affects numerous stakeholders with diverse, and sometimes contradictory, stakes. In the context of information systems (IS) acceptance, we question how to analyze stakeholders to understand the complexity of digital transformation. To achieve this, we have constructed an analysis framework based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and a literature review conducted through three bibliometric analyses. To validate the relevance of this framework, we favored the method of paradigmatic case study applied to the company Pampers. Our research highlights that acceptance models focus on the adoption and usage of an IS by users, without considering that IS are no longer passive artifacts. They can directly or indirectly affect a range of stakeholders with or without human intervention.
