Abstract

This article verifies the possibility of creation of a unique currency in the SADC area through its macroeconomic convergence criteria (CCME). To achieve this, the generalized method of moment in system is used for beta-convergence verification (real) and standard deviation calculation for sigma-convergence (nominal). After estimating under stata software and statistical calculation under Excel software, no evidence of convergence is verified. This makes it possible to call into question the possibility of creating a single in the SADC area.
