Proposal of a Scale Measuring the Development of an Interprofessional Community of Practice in Health (CIPS)[Proposition d’une échelle mesurant la construction d’une communauté interprofessionnelle de pratique en santé (CIPS)]

Goals Interprofessional collaboration in health is supported by various authorities, including the WHO, which attributes to it issues of safety, quality of care and holistic care. Our current research work assigns to the IPC a motivational lever allowing us to understand certain health challenges (pandemic context, etc.). We postulate that the development of a CIP must be contextualized and objectified, in order to identify the levers of action and the dimensions which structure it, with a view to proposing adapted systems or interventions, and to measure their effectiveness. . In order to meet this need, we propose a scale measuring the construction of a CIP perceived by the actors. Construction method From a theoretical and empirical anchor, we generated several constructs measuring five dimensions that support the IPC: objectives, norms, social bond, motivation, and power to act. These constructs were subjected to critical reading by experts in the field. Then, we tested this scale with caregivers in order to refine it (n=1200). Finally, we tested the scale pre- and post-test during a training day dedicated to interprofessionality and palliative care. We were able to measure the effectiveness of this scale but also its stability (n=250). Results The scale has significant internal consistency. Its use in a training context makes it possible to measure the evolution of the dimensions explored. This allows us to evaluate the effect of an interprofessional training system, in the context of palliative care. Conclusion At this stage, this scale is usable and allows interprofessional work to be appreciated.
