Abstract

In French Guiana, one person in two is currently working without being declared. And for the vast majority of these people, this is their only job. In this territory, where illegal immigrants account for some 4.4% of the population, undeclared work is almost the rule! In her doctoral thesis, begun in 2020, Gaëlle Lebeau analyses the economic and social phenomena that encourage it.
