Abstract

Symbole du miracle économique de l'après-guerre et modèle de développement pour toute l'Asie de l'Est, le Japon a laissé voir différentes sources de vulnérabilité suite à la catastrophe de Fukushima. Au-delà de la fragilité géographique d'un territoire situé dans une zone à forte activité sismique, les impacts économiques, financiers et politiques constituent des enjeux à long terme pour les dirigeants du pays. Les populations doivent, outre les questions environnementales, se positionner en termes d'acceptation des risques potentiels. Une réponse qui ne peut être que complexe et multidimensionnelle, comme nous allons le voir dans ce chapitre. La première section sera consacrée à la vulnérabilité du Japon durant les 30 dernières années. La deuxième section portera sur l'entreprise TEPCO et sa situation après Fukushima. La troisième section étendra l'analyse au secteur électrique et à l'économie du pays. La section 4 abordera les aspects politiques et la section 5 mettra l'accent sur les conséquences pour la population.
