Abstract

Ce chapitre a pour objectif de caractériser les régimes rentiers en mobilisant la grille de lecture de la théorie de la régulation (TR), notamment les formes institutionnelles qui sont au coeur de son appareil analytique. Dans la diversité des régimes rentiers, l'insertion internationale est à chaque fois la forme dominante car elle conditionne l'existence de la rente, laquelle correspond à un flux de recettes en devises émanant d'une ressource et nettement supérieur aux coûts de sa production, dont la valeur est suffisamment importante pour constituer le moteur de l'économie. L'État joue quant à lui un rôle médiateur essentiel à la reproduction du régime rentier. Bien qu'il dispose de la capacité à mener des politiques d'émancipation, il est souvent conduit à reproduire les structures rentières de l'économie.
