L’économie circulaire, une renaissance durable ? De la circularité faible à la circularité forte

Abstract

Après une longue éclipse, l'économie circulaire connaît une renaissance sous la forme d'un récit utopique où elle est présentée comme un modèle alternatif à celui de l'économie linéaire. Mais à quelles conditions cette renaissance est-elle véritablement durable ? Cet article propose de distinguer circularité faible, visant une adaptation à la marge du modèle économique dominant, et circularité forte, fondée sur des principes de sobriété et d'allongement de la durée de vie des produits, pour répondre à cette question.
