Abstract

Dans la première section, nous reviendrons sur la genèse de ce modèle en abordant les travaux de Chesbrough développés entre 1996 et 2003 et en les positionnant par rapport à des recherches antérieures dans le champ du management de l'innovation. La deuxième section permettra de proposer une synthèse de ce modèle. Nous y verrons que l'engouement des chercheurs pour cette conception renouvelée du processus d'innovation a contribué à enrichir les propositions initiales de Chesbrough ; ce dernier ayant lui-même poursuivi ses réflexions, notamment par la publication d'un ouvrage en 2006 (Chesbrough, 2006). Enfin, dans une troisième section, les limites et nécessaires prolongements seront abordés. Il s'agira notamment d'envisager des voies futures pour des recherches destinées à compléter ou amender le modèle.
