Abstract

During the last decades, the business world has undergone tremendous changes based on the increasing dominance of new digital technologies. In this era, human resources management (HRM) approach takes into consideration changes introduced by digital technologies. The interest focuses on HRM digitalization. This process requires significant initial financial investments. However, resources are often limited and constraints are multiple. Several studies show that constraints can be combined with new and emerging technologies to achieve frugal solutions. These statements lead us to focus on HRM frugal digitalization as a new concept to explore. In this paper we present firstly constraints that hinder HRM digitalization in emerging countries companies. Then, we present HRM in the digital era. Finally, we try to explain what constitutes a new HR economic management in the digital age through explaining frugality and developing "HRM frugal digitalization" notion.
