Impact de la Covid-19 sur l'efficience des banques commerciales d'un Groupe Bancaire : cas du Groupe BGFIBank

Abstract

Cette étude analyse l'effet de la crise de la Covid-19 sur l'efficience des banques commerciales du Groupe BGFIBank sur la période 2015-2022. Les scores d'efficience coût, technique et d'allocation ont été estimés au moyen de la méthode non paramétrique DEA, tandis que le modèle Tobit a été utilisé pour régressé l'effet de la Covid-19 sur l'efficience. Les résultats indiquent qu'avant et pendant la Covid-19 les scores d'efficience globaux se rapprochent du niveau d'efficience de référence de 100% correspondant aux meilleures pratiques de gestion bancaire. En outre, les résultats de l'étude révèlent que la crise de la Covid-19 a négativement influencé les scores d'efficience des banques. L'étude contribue à la littérature récente sur l'impact de la Covid-19 sur la performance bancaire. Elle est d'un grand intérêt pour les décideurs dans la mesure où elle justifie la nécessité de mesurer les scores d''efficience bancaire, d'identifier les facteurs pouvant les améliorer ou détériorer afin d'asseoir des stratégies qui renforcent et accroissent la résilience des banques en période de crise.
