Abstract
The aim of this article is to understand entrepreneurship as performance, in order to investigate the interfaces between its dimensions of control and deviation. This is not about reducing entrepreneurship to performance, but about exploring the essential role of its performative dimension in the elaboration of transformative possibilities. In order to understand entrepreneurial presentations and speeches as performances, the presentations that entrepreneurs made of their projects during two online events that proved to be orchestrated and inspired by the logic of the shows. Faced with impeccable performances, we used a methodology that provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs to narrate backstage aspects of the events. The analysis material was composed of three moments of contact with entrepreneurial performances at events, each of them modeled to explore, from the position of observers-spectators, impressions felt, gestures, narratives and the distribution of roles and places in the creation of performative effects.
