Abstract

O consumo pode ser algo prosaico e mundano. Entretanto, consumir também pode ajudar a lidar com situações estressantes e complexas e a atingir altos níveis de intensidade de emoções com potencial transformativo. Nos outros capítulos deste livro, você já notou que o consumo tem características simbólicas intrincadamente construídas. Neste capítulo, vamos discutir mais especificamente como o consumo ganha aspectos para além das questões ordinárias e galga dimensões mágicas e transcendentes, nos ajudando a navegar numa realidade instável e contingente.
