Abstract

Alors que la France considère habituellement que la santé n'a pas de prix, l'épidémie de la Covid-19 nous oblige à penser aux sacrifices à consentir dans certaines dimensions de la vie pour en préserver d'autres. L'économie de la santé offre un cadre pour analyser cesarbitrages.Le confinement réduit la circulation du virus et le nombre de décès lié à la Covid-19. Mais il a des effets délétères non seulement économiques et sociaux, mais aussi sanitaires : inégalités sociales face à l'infection et difficultés d'accès aux soins. Un enjeu important pour gérer la pandémie est donc de limiter le confinement mais en protégeant lespopulations à risque de formes graves de Covid-19 en raison de leurs comorbidités, que ce soit parmi les personnes âgées, les personnes hors de l'emploi ou en emploi. Cette crise nous invite aussi à une réflexion collective sur la valeur de la vie et de la santé, et sur les populations pour lesquelles la collectivité serait prête à faire des efforts supplémentaires.
