Abstract

L e GIS Élevages Demain a souhaité, dans ce cadre, identifier et quantifier de manière précise et la plus exhaustive possible les emplois dépendants de l'élevage en France, en distinguant les différents types d'élevages : bovin viande, veaux de boucherie, bovin lait, porcin, volaille chair et lapins, volaille oeuf, ovins viande, ovins lait et caprins. Pour cela, une méthode solide et rigoureuse permettant d'évaluer l'emploi direct et indirect, en nuançant sa dépendance, a été développée. Les résultats montrent qu'en France, un total de 703 000 équivalents-temps-plein (ETP) dépendent de la présence des élevages sur le territoire. Ainsi, outre les 312 000 ETP affectés aux activités d'élevage sur les exploitations, 178 000 ETP sont fortement dépendants de l'élevage, 166 000 moyennement et 47 000 faiblement. Autrement dit, pour chaque ETP présent sur un élevage, il y a 1,25 ETP supplémentaire dans les autres secteurs économiques.
