Abstract

Nous nous appuyons sur une analyse inductive du travail de frontières des référents handicap, considérés comme des professionnels « stigmatisés ». Nous cherchons à comprendre l'impact du travail de frontières sur le processus de professionnalisation des acteurs de statut inférieur dans l'organisation. Nous explorons le travail de 16 référents handicap dans des entreprises privées pour développer leur centralité et construire un écosystème. Sur la base d'entretiens semi-structurés, d'observations in situ et de matériel secondaire, nous constatons qu'un acteur faible et stigmatisé utilise un portefeuille de travail configurationnel pour devenir légitime ; son projet de professionnalisation a une influence sur l'institution "handicap" ; travailler sur un sujet stigmatisé a un impact neutre sur la réussite de la carrière des chargés de mission handicap. Enfin, nous avons identifié deux ressources qui permettent aux acteurs dominés de s'engager dans le travail sur les frontières : la position et la connaissance intime du stigmate.
