Abstract

In this article we present results of a bibliometric study of competitive intelligence research conducted in France over the past 20 years. Our objective was to produce a cartography of intelligence research based on a dual corpus of scientific publications and PhD dissertations referenced on the platforms theses.fr, HAL and Cairn for the period 2000-2022. Our results confirm that the two principle academic domains producing competitive intelligence research in France are Information and Communication Sciences (ICS) and Management Sciences. Our study also reveals a regular and significant decrease in the overall number of publications in this area starting from the period 2009-2012. In addition to this trend our findings reveal as well however that ICS journals have been steadily increasing their output in this area.
