Abstract

Dans la série des marchés qui savent franchir les lignes de la morale et du licite tout en déjouant les standards de l'économie, la beauté constitue un terrain de choix, entre traditions cosmétiques millénaires et jeunes influenceuses millionnaires. Ce nouveau volume de la collection « Drôles de marchés » propose un panorama des tendances qui permettent de se faire (fitness et yoga, instituts et spas, maquillage) ou de se refaire une beauté (chirurgie, implants capillaires, compléments alimentaires) ou encore de se construire une belle image (coaching, réseaux sociaux et tatouage). Le lecteur y croisera une femme-chat, du maquillage 3D et des voleurs de cheveux. Mais il saura aussi que, pour être embauché, les apparences doivent être soignées ou que, pour se détendre, rien ne vaut un spa à la bière. L'offre et la demande, encore et toujours, et des chiffres d'affaires moins éphémères que les nouveaux tatouages aux encres Bic.
