Developing Circular Practices in European Small and Medium Enterprises: A Revised Stakeholder Theory Approach

Abstract

La théorie des parties prenantes a été introduite dans la littérature sur l'économie circulaire étant donnée sa pertinence concernant l'orchestration des parties prenantes qui coopèrent pour atteindre de plus larges objectifs sociétaux, et les impacts de cette orchestration sur le comportement des entreprises. L'objectif de cet article est d'analyser si une gestion proactive des parties prenantes facilite le développement de pratiques circulaires par les entreprises. Nous adoptons la version revisitée de la théorie des parties prenantes de Sulkowski et al. (2018) qui suggèrent que les entreprises peuvent initier des changements systémiques dans leur écosystème en « secouant » leurs parties prenantes. Nous nous concentrons volontairement sur des parties prenantes traditionnelles avec lesquelles la création de valeur soutenable est moins évidente. En réalisant des modèles d'équations structurelles à partir de données sur 14 726 petites et moyennes entreprises européennes, nos résultats confirment que « secouer » ses parties prenantes traditionnelles facilite en effet le développement de pratiques circulaires par les entreprises.
