Abstract

L'économie circulaire rencontre un succès grandissant. Ses promoteurs la présentent comme un modèle alternatif à celui, dominant, de l'économie linéaire, fondé sur le prélèvement de ressources non renouvelables et générateur de déchets. L'économie circulaire promet un découplage entre croissance économique et impacts environnementaux, grâce à des stratégies de réduction à la source et de bouclage des flux de matière et d'énergie. Ce modèle est également censé créer des richesses économiques territorialisées et des emplois locaux. Mais est-ce un phénomène vraiment nouveau ? Pourquoi ce modèle rencontre-t-il un tel succès ? Quelles démarches et méthodes ses promoteurs expérimentent-ils ? Quelles difficultés rencontrent-ils ? Enfin, à quelles conditions l'économie circulaire est-elle porteuse d'un modèle de transition écologique véritablement soutenable ? Après une mise en perspective historique des pratiques et débats théoriques, ce livre analyse les modèles d'affaires et les outils utilisés par les praticiens. Enfin, il conclut sur les conditions d'un découplage effectif.
