Abstract

This article pursues the objective of analyzing Small Cross-Border Trade (PCT) between the DRC and Rwanda. Surveys of the official services concerned have shown that 510 small traders are involved in the PCT, and are mostly women. They alone represent 90%. Thanks to the efforts made by COMESA, in particular through the establishment of the Simplified Commercial Regime (RECOS), it can be seen that the PCT is being formalized in accordance with customs provisions, however the presence of multiple services at the border remains an obstacle. that cross-border traders will have to overcome by coming together in association and finding consensus with customs and other services concerned to carry out their cross-border activities well.
