Abstract

La reprise d'une librairie permet de bénéficier déjà d'un fond de commerce existant, mais coûte plus cher à l'achat. La création d'une nouvelle librairie est moins coûteuse, mais la clientèle est entièrement à constituer. Que l'on soit repreneur ou créateur, il existe en France des aides publiques - même si elles furent mises en place tardivement pour la librairie - qui permettent d'accompagner les porteurs de projets dans toutes les phases de vie de leur commerce. En s'appuyant sur plusieurs études récentes, cet article montre en particulier le contexte et les conditions des reprises de librairies et nous informe sur l'identité de leurs nouveaux et nouvelles gérant.e.s.
