Abstract

Cette étude de cas s'intéresse à l'expatriation managériale sous un aspect peu développé dans la littérature académique. Il s'agit des managers européens travaillant sous le commandement des managers japonais expatriés dans des filiales japonaises en Europe. L'objectif de cette étude exploratoire est d'apporter de la compréhension sur des défis culturels imposés par le management japonais et les mécanismes d'adaptation proposés par des managers européens travaillant ou ayant travaillé pour des filiales d'entreprises japonaises implantées en Europe. Elle s'est particulièrement intéressée à l'impact de la culture et du style managérial japonais dans l'entreprise afin de pouvoir ensuite en mesurer les conséquences sur des managers européens en poste ou ayant été en poste, et aussi de pouvoir identifier les stratégies d'adaptation utilisées par ces mêmes managers. Pour obtenir des réponses aux différentes interrogations sur le management japonais aujourd'hui, des entretiens ont été organisés avec des managers européens ayant travaillé ou étant toujours en poste dans des filiales japonaises en Europe.
