Variables clés pour le transfert de technologie et le management de l’innovation

Abstract

Les résultats d'une analyse de 133 cas d'effets de diffusion technologique correspondant à des transferts industriels à partir de technologies développées pour le programme technologique de l'Agence Spatiale Européenne soulèvent quelques questions. La principale question est relative au fait que l'ampleur du phénomène observé varie très fortement d'une firme à l'autre pour des établissements pourtant dotés des mêmes potentialités. Quels sont dans ces conditions les paramètres jouant un rôle décisif dans la détermination de la quantité et du type de transferts de technologie, et plus généralement dans le processus de déclenchement de la diffusion de l'innovation ? Nous nous appuierons sur les principaux résultats obtenus dans le cadre des développements réalisés autour de la Théorie de la Contingence. Les conclusions auxquelles nous parvenons en termes de management de la technologie nous amènerons à reconsidérer certaines relations issues de ce champ de recherche, notamment en ce qui concerne la relation entre technologie et structure organisationnelle de l'entreprise.
