Apport du concept de situation pour étudier la postadoption des technologies

Abstract

L'adoption des technologies est une préoccupation centrale de la recherche en systèmes d'informations depuis près de trente ans. Le Technology Acceptance Model et ses extensions ont dominé la recherche sur l'adoption des technologies depuis l'article séminal de F.D. Davis (Davis, 1989). Depuis plusieurs années, la communauté de chercheurs appellent à explorer de nouvelles voies théoriques, méthodologiques et épistémologiques (Bagozzi, 2007; Benbasat & Barki, 2007; de Guinea & Markus, 2009). Dans notre communication, nous proposons de mobiliser le concept de situation comme contribution à la recherche sur la post-adoption. Sur la base d'une ethnographie organisationnelle de plus de deux ans au sein de la direction industrielle d'un grand groupe français, nous identifions une taxonomie de situations managériales dans lesquelles s'insèrent les usages des technologies. Sur le plan théorique, ce cadre permet de répondre à l'appel de la communauté SI à un changement de paradigme en se focalisant sur les comportements réels d'usage. Il favorise également une modification du prisme de recherche, d'une étude de la post-adoption exclusive d'un seul outil à une analyse inclusive d'un ou plusieurs outils dans un ensemble préexistant.
