Les petites exploitations agricoles françaises : types, contributions et soutiens

Abstract

Peu soutenues par les politiques agricoles françaises et européennes, les petites exploitations agricoles (identifiées par une production brute standard de moins de 25 000 €) sont toujours présentes dans le paysage agricole français. En 2010, le recensement agricole en comptait près de 178 000, soit plus de 36 % des exploitations agricoles de la France métropolitaine. Cet article, rédigé avant la sortie des premiers résultats du recensement agricole 2020, dresse un tableau statistique et propose une typologie de ces petites exploitations. À partir d'enquêtes de terrain, il explore leurs liens avec l'emploi et l'environnement. Enfin, il revient sur leurs difficultés d'accès aux aides de la PAC et présente le dispositif proposé depuis 2014, par la Commission européenne, pour les petits agriculteurs européens
