Abstract

The Occitanie region is considering the potential for innovation and creation of added value in the agrifood sector (potential of quality signs, development of agro-chains, etc.), given its contribution to the regional economy. Facing this challenge, the Repro-Innov project aims to analyze the reorganization processes and innovation dynamics in value chains and territories. It is examining the diversity of technical and organizational innovations, as well as environmental and social innovations, at the various stages of value chains. The project combines quantitative methods based on statistical surveys and databases, and qualitative methods based on interviews. Three main types of work structure the project. Research on productive reorganizations focuses on the evolution of farm profiles impacting agricultural cooperatives and territories. Research on organic agriculture explores the different aspects of its development, both in terms of production and consumption. Finally, research has examined the criteria that have a positive impact on the dynamics of innovation in rural areas and medium-sized cities. The interactions between the project partners have been rich and diverse, allowing for the completion of the works undertaken, for the exchange of the results obtained and for the co-construction of participative workshops.
