Abstract

Cet article explore la plurivocité des temporalités qui travaille le management contemporain. L'enjeu est de comprendre les rapports qu'une entreprise industrielle centenaire entretient avec les temporalités. À partir d'une étude de cas longitudinale et d'une série d'entretiens menée au sein de l'entreprise familiale Fleury Michon, l'article identifie les mobilisations discursives de différentes temporalités propres au capitalisme contemporain. Les logiques du temps long (capitalisme d'héritage, culture locale vendéenne, développement durable) sont requises comme des éléments constitutifs de l'entreprise. En régime présentiste, ces temporalités interagissent, s'affrontent et parfois s'opposent. L'un des enjeux du management est de produire à la fois une conciliation possible de ces temporalités et une euphémisation des rapports de force qu'elles ne peuvent dissimuler.
