Abstract

Après une année 2020 frappée de plein fouet par la pandémie de Covid-19, une baisse de la demande et une très faible inflation, l'année 2021 a vu la reprise accompagnée d'un fort rebond inflationniste. Le prix de l'énergie a flambé et de nombreuses matières premières ont vu leur prix augmenter également du fait de tensions importantes sur l'offre. L'inflation sous-jacente est pour le moment encore modérée dans la zone euro, mais elle inquiète au Royaume-Uni et surtout aux États-Unis où l'importance des plans de relance et les pénuries de main-d'œuvre accentuent les tensions. Le retournement à la baisse des prix de la plupart des matières premières depuis le printemps ou l'automne 2021 devrait contribuer négativement à l'inflation au cours de l'année 2022. Pour évaluer l'ampleur de cette contribution, nous avons estimé la sensibilité du déflateur de la consommation au prix des matières premières importées. Nous avons en particulier mesuré l'impact différencié d'un retour du prix du pétrole à 65 euros et de son maintien à 80 euros sur l'inflation en 2022.
