Abstract

Lorsque P. Morin et J.-P. Pollin m'ont contacté à l'automne 2002 pour discuter d'un projet de numéro spécial de la Revue économique consacré aux rapports qu'entretiennent Sociologie et Économie dans différents champs de recherche, l'expérience conduite par C. Baudelot et J. Mairesse en novembre 1986 m'est tout de suite revenue en mémoire. Jeune administrateur Insee à l'époque, j'avais eu la chance de participer comme discutant à la confrontation qu'ils avaient organisée entre Sociologie et Économie sous forme d'un atelier de deux journées mobilisant sur quelques thèmes de recherche concrets deux contributions et deux commentaires de sociologues et d'économistes. L'objectif était alors de réfléchir en commun sur ce qui pouvait séparer ou réunir les deux disciplines à la lumière d'analyses « autonomes, conformes aux exigences de chaque discipline ». Sociologie de la consommation et économie du goût, Équité et inégalités dans l'éducation, Entreprise et famille et Données de panels et méthodes statistiques étaient les quatre thèmes retenus. Contributions et commentaires ont donné lieu à la publication d'un numéro spécial de la Revue économique en janvier 1988 intitulé « Économie et Sociologie ».
