Abstract

Many feminist mobilisations and gender policies rely on numbers, whether in the forms of quotas, gendered indicators or the feminicides counting. Focusing on work and employment, this book shows how sociology of quantification can help to think critically about gender equality public policies and organisational strategies based on numbers and indicators. This collective book is based on qualitative research surveys and situated knowledges of gender experts, and draws on international comparisons (France, England, Denmark, Sweden and Quebec).
