Abstract

Pour la première fois, la Revue de l'OFCE aborde la question du travail des femmes et des discriminations dont elles font l'objet, autrement qu'en incidente à propos d'autres domaines d'études. Ce numéro est entièrement centré sur ce thème, et l'engagement est pris qu'une rubrique régulière lui sera désormais consacrée. Les articles publiés présentent des diagnostics, des interprétations et des conclusions pour les politiques publiques. Ils ouvrent également des débats. Nous avons choisi de faire appel à de multiples compétences : économistes bien sûr, mais aussi sociologues et juristes. En effet, l'analyse des inégalités entre les femmes et les hommes ne peut être réduite à un seul aspect ; elle est nécessairement multidimensionnelle. Plus que toute autre, la réflexion sur l'activité des femmes résiste aux analyses issues d'une seule discipline. La compréhension de la manière dont se combinent les différents mécanismes de la ségrégation est essentielle pour définir ce que devraient être les politiques publiques d'égalité entre les sexes, dans leur importance, leur agencement, leurs priorités et leur cohérence.
