Abstract

En 1989, le Mur de Berlin s'effondre et entraîne dans sa chute l'ensemble des régimes socialistes de l'Europe de l'Est. Commence alors une période — la « transition » — où l'on entreprend, fiévreusement, la transformation d'une économie planifiée en une économie de marché. À l'image de tous les secteurs économiques et sociaux, de vastes réformes de système de santé se sont imposées. Mais bien plus d'ailleurs, les difficultés sont immenses, car les pays de l'Europe de l'Est ont dû faire face, dès l'époque socialiste, à de graves déficiences sanitaires [...].
