Habiter la France de demain – Consommation ; e-commerce vs circuits courts

Abstract

La crise du Covid-19 au cours de l'année 2020/2021 nous a appris que nos modes de consommation sont facilement adaptables et qu'ils sont en constante évolution. Deux tendances en cours ont été accélérées par les confinements successifs : le développement du e-commerce et le retour des circuits courts. Avec la fermeture des principaux commerces, magasins, cafés et restaurants, nos habitudes de consommation ont été bouleversées. Le e-commerce et plus spécifiquement la vente alimentaire en ligne a explosé (elle passe de 6% à 10% de part de marché en seulement un an). La crise sanitaire a également contribué à développer le commerce local, en dynamisant les nouveaux circuits courts. A défaut de pouvoir vendre sur les marchés, certains producteurs agricoles ont alors développé un système de vente directe, des produits tout droit venus de la ferme, qui ont été livrés à domicile chez leurs clients. Si ces nouveaux modes de consommation paraissent aujourd'hui incontournables, durablement installés dans les mœurs des Français, il n'en reste pas moins un certain paradoxe : allons-nous à l'avenir vers une consommation plus locale en favorisant les circuits courts ou une consommation dématérialisée via le e-commerce ?
