Abstract

The militarization of the economy increases the effects of domination and reduces the potential for global economic development. Since the end of the Soviet Union, the question of disarmament has been raised, with considerable economic effects, especially if this process is accompanied by aid to developing countries. However, the destruction of weapons is costly, and the capital of military industries becomes at least partially obsolete. It is therefore important to distinguish between short-term and long-term effects. The baroque technologies of the military sector should lose their influence. However, it is not only armaments that create conflicts. Disarmament also implies a different conception of relations between states and between people.
