Abstract

Este libro examina procesos de conflictividad territorial y ambiental en Europa y América Latina de manera comparada, a partir de entender que existen tramas comunes a "ambos lados del Atlántico". El libro se organiza en dos partes. La primera desarrolla las premisas teóricas y metodológicas centrales (entre ellas, los debates sobre globalización neoliberal, extractivismos y productividad de los conflictos). La segunda parte es la más extensa y comprende un total de diecisiete conflictos territoriales y ambientales con una estructura de análisis de dos conflictos por capítulo. Se abordan allí conflictos en torno al agronegocio, la extensión de la frontera agrícola en zonas tropicales, la minería de gran escala, las grandes obras hidráulicas, el turismo masivo, la patrimonialización de paisajes y territorios, los territorios indígenas, los recursos y ambientes transfronterizos, los usos de espacios periurbanos. Este libro trata de alejarse del mero "estudio de casos" para convertirse en una obra coral, realizada por autores y autoras de diversas trayectorias vitales y profesionales, así como orígenes y pertenencias geográficas.
