Abstract

Ce papier vise à évaluer la relation entre la participation aux chaînes de valeur pilotées par la grande distribution (GD) et l'intégration aux chaînes de valeur mondiales (CVM) des firmes agroalimentaires françaises. Pour ce faire, nous proposons une méthodologie empirique basée sur des estimations économétriques de la marge extensive du commerce grâce à des modèles multivariés. Les données d'entreprises issues de la base AMADEUS sont combinées avec les données du commerce extérieur français, ainsi qu'une liste exhaustive des firmes qui disposent de la certification privée International Featured Standard (IFS) pour la période 2006-2011. Les résultats montrent que les firmes qui participent aux chaînes de valeur pilotées par la GD (firmes certifiées IFS) disposent de 8,35% de probabilité, par rapport aux autres firmes, d'intégrer les CVM. En outre, cette prime d'intégration des firmes certifiées IFS aux CVM est essentiellement tirée par le statut d'exportateur des firmes.
