Abstract

The health crisis of Covid-19 becomes a global crisis that affects all collective spheres. The French nonprofit organizations are trying to participate in the response to the crisis but, in spite of this commitment, they suffer the consequences of the crisis and are affected by the lack of resources which is already structural in their organizations. The objective is to understand how they have reacted to the crisis by coping with this lack. The article is based on an extensive survey of French NPOs during the first lockdown. The results show that NPOs considerably reduced their activity, while trying to maintain social links if possible. However, the economic impact is very strong, despite the reorganization of working arrangements.
