Abstract

Le rôle dominant joué par l'économie dans le contemporain aboutit à une situation dans laquelle la "vérité" des marchés s'oppose, et s'impose, le plus souvent au choix politique. Or, nous ne savons même pas nommer précisément le système économique dans lequel nous vivons, utilisant indifféremment les termes de "libéralisme" et de "capitalisme" pour le désigner : nous sommes persuadés de vivre la victoire du libéralisme alors que le capitalisme qui nous gouverne est en contradiction avec la théorie libérale, telle qu'elle se donne à lire par exemple dans son ouvrage fondateur, La Richesse des Nations d'Adam Smith. Faire émerger les différentes strates de la "scène économique" (à savoir les pratiques, les règles, les théories et les discours) offre un moyen d'élucider ces contradictions et d'ouvrir de nouveaux horizons pour l'économique et le politique.
