Abstract

This case study looks at a French cooperative organization whose members are self-employed women with entrepreneur-employee-partner status. An analysis of Coopaname allows us to determine how the organization translates its political project into management tools that reconcile a dual logic (managerial and activist) and embody the principles of cooperation, solidarity, and autonomy. Presenting the cooperative and the management systems it has put in place, the case enables an analysis of the links between political aspirations oriented around an alternative business project and the cooperative and the members' actual practices.
