Abstract

Para la economía ortodoxa del siglo XX, el cuidado no existe. Aparentemente no hay preocupación por el otro en la teoría económica estándar. Se excluyen la benevolencia, el universo sentimental, el altruismo y la vulnerabilidad. Los individuos son descritos como seres racionales y autónomos en busca de sus intereses personales. Este libro reflexiona sobre la necesidad contemporánea de incluir en las ciencias económicas la preocupación por el cuidado en tanto fundamental para las políticas públicas que precisan de una ética contextual, intuitiva, personal y moral del cuidado para enriquecer la reflexión sobre la vida social.
