Prise en compte de l’éducation comme facteur de production agricole : une analyse départementale

Abstract

Cet article présente tout d'abord un modèle de fonction de production dans lequel le niveau de formation des agriculteurs intervient à coté des facteurs de production traditionnels: consommations intermédiaires, terre, capital et travail. Ce modèle est estime sur une coupe de données départementales relatives en 1980 en retenant une spécification translog. On montre l'influence du niveau de formation sur l'efficacité de l'agriculture, les écarts inter-départementaux de productivité totale étant partiellement expliques par cette variable. Certaines limites de l'analyse tiennent au caractère synthétique de la variable utilisée pour repérer le niveau de formation, qui est sans doute corrélée avec des facteurs omis dans le modèle.
