Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est de présenter, dans un premier temps, les questions posées par l'analyse économique des relations existant entre agriculture et environnement, puis de poursuivre cette présentation en montrant comment la fourniture d'aménités par l'agriculture peut s'insérer dans une dynamique rurale renouvelée. On remarque que ces questions relèvent de l'économie publique et de l'économie de la croissance et qu'à ce titre elles font partie d'un domaine de la science en expansion rapide. Dans la section 2, l'influence exercée sur l'environnement par le secteur agricole, est analysée, en particulier les aménités qu'il peut fournir. Dans la section 3, les conditions auxquelles une dynamique économique positive pourrait s'instaurer dans les zones rurales sont examinées. Enfin, en conclusion, des remarques pour l'orientation des recherches en économie rurale sont exprimées.
