Abstract

Le processus d'intensification de l'agriculture, lié au développement économique général, a entraîné une dégradation du paysage bocager, équilibre ancien entre la production agricole et la fourniture d'aménités rurales. Pour répondre à la question de la rentabilité sociale de la préservation du bocage, de sa restauration et de son entretien, une analyse coûts-bénéfices intégrant les bénéfices non marchands de la population résidente a été réalisée sur la base d'une enquête auprès d'un échantillon de 400 ménages résidents des régions du Plain et du Bessin. Le consentement à payer (CAP) pour la restauration du bocage (méthode d'évaluation contingente), estimé à partir du modèle de Hanneman, s'élève en moyenne à 200F par ménage et son élasticité par rapport au revenu vaut 0,9. Le taux de rentabilité interne de rendement du projet de restauration du bocage n'est que de 5 % ce qui est modeste.
