Abstract

L'article séminal de Coase (1960) a largement été utilisé en économie de l'environnement, ce qui n'est pas le cas des travaux d'Oliver E. Williamson qui succèdent à ceux de Coase. Les auteurs appliquent le cadre analytique du choix entre les structures discrètes de gouvernance au choix parmi les instruments de politiques d'environnement. Les transactions environnementales qui diffèrent par leurs attributs sont alignées à des catégories d'instruments de politiques d'environnement qui diffèrent par leurs coûts de gouvernance.
