Abstract

Les difficultés économiques récentes qui compromettent la croissance économique malgache révèlent l'extrême vitalité d'une économie informelle fonctionnant avec d'autres objectifs et d'autres finalités que l'économie standard. Modifiant les équilibres ville-campagne et la formation des prix, se diffusant partout où des systèmes plus formalisés ont échoué, l'économie informelle n'apparaît pas comme une alternative à des modèles de développement mais comme une série d'adaptations particulières à une situation généralisée de pénurie.
