Abstract

L'analyse de l'évolution du capital productif se heurte à la difficulté d'appréhender correctement les mécanismes qui déterminent les taux de déclassement des équipements, qui sont le plus souvent supposés constants, faute de données adéquates. Il s'agit ici d'expliquer les variations de déclassement au moyen de fonctions spécifiques à deux générations d'équipements : l'une traditionnelle, l'autre moderne. A l'aide d'une base de données concernant la diffusion au début des années 80 d'une nouvelle technologie dans l'industrie textile de huit pays, on montre que les déterminants des déclassements diffèrent fortement d'une génération à l'autre.
