Abstract

Les dépenses des conseils régionaux et généraux en faveur de l'agriculture s'élèvent à près de trois milliards de francs en 1992. Elles représentent ainsi 5 % du total des aides nationales et européennes à l'agriculture française. Les différences observées entre les actions aidées par les collectivités territoriales et celles prises en charge par l'Etat et l'Union européenne révèlent une certaine subsidiarité. Les interventions des régions et des départements sont moins déterminées par les volumes produits ou le capital engagé. Elles tendent à privilégier d'autres objectifs que le soutien économique à la production, comme l'aménagement, l'environnement, la diversification des activités et les conditions de vie.
