Abstract

La mise en place des Plans départementaux pour la protection du milieu aquatique et la gestion des ressources piscicoles (PDPG) correspond à une réorientation de la gestion halieutique qui avait privilégié jusqu'ici le repeuplement. Ces plans, en s'inscrivant dans une logique de développement durable, visent à permettre aux poissons de vivre et de se reproduire dans le milieu naturel. La justification des dépenses engagées conduit à s'interroger sur la nature de leurs bénéfices potentiels. La méthode d'évaluation contingente a été retenue pour estimer la valeur du poisson sauvage. Sa mise en oeuvre s'est appuyée sur une enquête postale auprès des pêcheurs de l'Indre et de l'Hérault. Le consentement à payer des pêcheurs pour bénéficier de poissons sauvages est lié à leurs caractéristiques socio-économique ainsi qu'à leur effort de pêche. L'estimation de la valeur annuelle du poisson sauvage peut être comparée au montant des investissements à réaliser dans le cadre des PDPG.
