Abstract

Le « bien-être animal » suscite des passions contradictoires. Miroir d'une demande sociale volatile, problématique scientifique sans concept, fourre-tout philosophique et anthropologique, bouc émissaire d'éleveurs en mal de reconnaissance, colifichet moral de consommateurs à l'étroit dans leur manteau de carnivore, le « bien être animal » est-il l'enfant maudit de la protection animale biberonné par les filières industrielles, les biologistes et les économistes, le symptôme glacé d'un anti-humanisme animalitaire,le regard affligé des animaux domestiques contemplant Caïn au travail, ou un ensemble de tous ces éléments articulés de façon aléatoire ?
