Abstract

L'article présente une étude économétrique des échanges commerciaux de produits agro-alimentaires en utilisant des données françaises. Pour ce faire, on utilise un modèle de différenciation des produits qui prend en compte le caractère non homothétique des préférences du consommateur et qui permet aussi de tester des structures plus contraignantes telles que l'homogénéité, la séparabilité faible homogène et la spécification d'Armington. Ce modèle est fondé sur l'utilisation de la forme fonctionnelle CDE (Constant difference of elasticities). La spécification d'Armington est rejetée pour la majorité des produits étudiés. Les résultats économétriques montrent également que pour un même bien alimentaire les consommateurs français font une distinction non seulement entre les approvisionnements d'origine intérieure et les importations, mais aussi entre ceux provenant des autres pays de l'Union européenne et ceux qui viennent du reste du monde.
